Frank, Linda

Dr. Linda Frank received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, her Master of Science in reproductive physiology from the University of Connecticut, and her DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Frank practiced for 2 years in mixed animal practice in Northern Idaho and 1 year in small animal practice in San Diego, California before completing a dermatology residency at the University of Florida. She has been on faculty at the University of Tennessee since 1991 and is a Professor of Dermatology where her responsibilities include both clinical and didactic teaching. She is co-director of the veterinary student summer research program. She has won several prestigious awards over her career including the Lindsay Young Teaching Award (1999, 2007), Zoetis Award for Veterinary Research Excellence (2014), Society for Comparative Endocrinology Excellence in Research Award (best clinical publication in the field of small animal endocrinology during 2015), and most recently the recipient of the ACVD Award for Excellence in 2018. Her primary research interests include endocrine and other non-inflammatory alopecic disorders of dogs and epidemiology and treatment of methicillin resistant staphylococcal infections. She has over 80 peer-reviewed publications and has given over 100 research and clinical education presentations.
