Willi, Barbara

Barbara Willi studied veterinary medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and did her doctor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Institute of Veterinary Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After a postgraduate course in experimental medicine and biology, she completed her PhD studies at the Clinical Laboratory of the Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich on the importance of hemoplasma infections in felids. This was followed by a residency training at the Clinic for Small Animal Internal Medicine at Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich. She’s a diplomate of the European and American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and obtained the venia legendi for Small Animal Medicine at the University of Zurich in 2016. She works as a senior physician in clinical infectiology at the Clinic for Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich. She’s the head of the hospital hygiene commission at the Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich, member of the task force «Strategy on Antibiotic Resistance Switzerland (StAR)» for companion animals of the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) and member of the vaccine task force of the Swiss Association of Small Animal Medicine (SVK-ASMPA). Her actual research projects focus on antimicrobial stewardship in companion animals and infection prevention and control in veterinary settings.
